Exhibition view of “Treasures of Ancient Egypt: Selections from the Permanent Collection”
RAFFMA houses one of the largest public displays of Ancient Egyptian artifacts in Southern California. With nearly 500 objects, the collection encompasses more than 5,000 years of Egyptian history from the Predynastic to Coptic Period. The collection includes many high quality carved stone objects, small stone, wood and bronze statues, human and animal mummy masks and a richly decorated coffin lid. Ancient Egyptian art is an important focus of many of the museum’s programs including docent tours, public lectures and workshops.
